Ritsuimekan Asia Pasific University Jepang

The curriculum of APU is designed with the future of the Asia Pacific region in mind. All the available programs in some way address the current and future needs of our constantly expanding international society. There are three main programs available for undergraduate students at APU:
Asia Pacific Studies (APS) - Social Sciences and Environmental Studies. Learn more about APS.

Scholarships Available Prior to Enrollment
APU offers scholarships to both First-year International students and Transfer International students. Students apply for these scholarships when they submit their application for admission, and applicants are notified of their scholarship results at the same time as they are notified of their Admission Status. The scholarship system for 2009 applicants is set as follows:

30% Tuition Reduction 410,000 yen per year 960,000 yen per year, plus Airfare to Japan, Admissions Fee*, Living expenses of at least 1,000,000 Yen per year
50% Tuition Reduction 690,00 yen per year 690,00 yen per year, plus Airfare to Japan, Admissions Fee*, Living expenses of at least 1,000,000 Yen per year
65% Tuition Reduction 890,000 yen per year 480,000 yen per year, plus Airfare to Japan, Admissions Fee*, Living expenses of at least 1,000,000 Yen per year
80% Tuition Reduction 1,100,000 yen per year 280,000 yen per year, plus Airfare to Japan, Admissions Fee*, Living expenses of at least 1,000,000 Yen per year
100% Tuition Reduction 1,380,000 yen per year Airfare to Japan, Admissions Fee*, Living expenses of at least 1,000,000 Yen per year
*The admissions fee is a one-time, non-refundable registration fee of 130,000 yen.
Tuition reduction scholarships will only cover the least amount of credits needed to graduate within the shortest period of time. Such scholarships will cover 124 credits to be taken in 4 years for first-year students, 94 credits to be taken in 3 years for second-year transfer students, and 62 credits to be taken in 2 years for third-year transfer students. If a student takes more credits, or decides to study at APU for an extra year, the scholarship will not cover the extra costs.
Honors Scholarship Sponsored by JASSO
From the pool of applicants, outstanding students will be recommended by APU for consideration for an honors scholarship from the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) This is an annual stipend of approximately 600,000 yen, awarded to students with exemplary academic achievements. Students will be notified of acceptance for this scholarship when they are notified of their Admissions Status.
Other Scholarships
There are also other scholarships which students may apply for after coming to APU. However, please be aware that these scholarships are limited in number, so students should not count on these scholarships as a source of financial income.
